What exactly does Cross Dock mean? In each metro area where there is a density of population, carriers assemble one location considered to be the best local service provider. Many times this location is a carrier owned facility. The Cross Dock operation is responsible to unload the interstate fleet, receive and store orders, and perform local deliveries within a set distance from their location.
